Rolling Northumberland at its best
Lovely but challenging undulating terrain, with friendly locals running the event.

If only all sportives were like this
Just a really friendly, beautiful ride. With the best food stops in Sportive world. First time I’ve done the Classic (two previous Skyriders but today’s weather was…unpromising). If you like climbing, you’ll love this.

Amazing views
This is good for riders new to sportive. You need to do some training as there are some long hills but once you've conquered them the views are great. Then there are always downhills too.

A perfect sportive
Exceptionally friendly. Lovely 'helpers' - in every role they were great.

Beautiful. Friendly. Challenging. A must do for the community!
Lovely marshalling. Great flapjacks. Excellent information before with a real investment in time and history shared with participants. Would love to see more participants and will continue to shout that this is a must do. Thank you

Even slightly damp weather failed to diminish the quality of the route and the ride
The route has a superb variety of terrain and, although not on closed roads, it is very quiet and traffic free making it very safe and enjoyable for all.

Great
This event was well organised, the people who signed me in were lovely , feed stop was a welcome break with plenty of bananas and cakes , along with someone helping with a bikepulled pork at the end was another great touch , then discovered the coop had a special on for the meal deal . A big thanks to all who made this such a good event considering the weather.

Excellent and well-grounded community cycle event
Challenging route, I did the classic 100 and found it a significant effort. But the effort is rewarded with great scenery, good riding and great free food en route and at the finish. It seems well supported by cyclists and is a bit of a local treasure. I drove from Ely, Cambridgeshire to participate, and don't regret it at all. Would highly recommend to all.

Wow, what a fantastic event!
I'd heard of this event and thought it was beyond me but when I knew I could use my e-bike and my new knee had settled down, I took the plunge and signed up for the 30 mile ride - my first sportive event. The route is very good with plenty of variety of topography, shelter and also wide open spaces with attendant wind. And although my battery helped me up the hills, the unassisted riders overtook me on the exciting downhills. The reward for the effort was stunning views and a terrific sense of achievement. What a fabulous day! Thank you.

Fab for ANY level
The last two years I did the shorter event as a leisurely social, battery boosted, with friends. I have also done it not battery supported, both the shorter and middle..the latter being a major challenge. You could not get more beautiful scenery on peaceful roads. From the warm welcome at the start, to the amazing flapjack and drinks (and toilet) on route, to the great value money token to spend in the village, this is a fantastic event...and there was even a music festival in the village to go on to afterwards!
