The 2024 Haydon Hundred

ENTRIES NOW OPEN

The Haydon Hundred is a sportive running in the South Tyne Valley in South West Northumberland.

The 3 routes include a 100km main route with several unique features including climbing the Alston cobbles and crossing Alston and Allendale Moors.
The 60km Challenge route is designed for the less experienced cyclist. Still tough but at less than 40 miles it is accessible to any reasonably fit cyclist.
Finally the 140km, expert only, Skyrider route climbs 5 of the 6 highest roads in England giving a massive 2700 metres of vertical for the day.

The friendly event starts and finishes in Haydon Bridge where all entrants are given a voucher to spend on refreshments in any of the village's shops, pubs, food outlets and of course our famous 'Hog Roast'.

Starting in the riverside village of Haydon Bridge the route ascends both slopes of the South Tyne Valley, before heading south for Alston and the spectacular panoramas of the North Pennines. It has been carefully chosen to combine a testing cycling experience with the area’s most scenic and historic assets, and participants are guaranteed an unrivalled day out. There’s lots more information under the Route tab at the top of this page, and the 2023 Riders Guide is now available to download.

Unique Features of this event include:
  • Uses 5 of the 6 highest roads in England: (Kilhope Cross, Langdon Fell, Black Hill, Dowgang Hush &   Yad Moss)
  • Spectacular High Pennine scenery
